Igor Keller is the mastermind behind Longboat, a boundary-pushing band project that blends Keller’s singular vision with contributions from a rotating cast of live musicians. A former jazz tenor saxophonist in Seattle’s vibrant scene, Keller transitioned into pop with a flair for the unconventional. Since 2011, he’s released 32 albums exploring topics that rarely surface in mainstream music — technology, political unrest, wealth inequality (Money Trouble, 2023), and even five albums of his self-styled “electronic blues.”

Averse to traditional love songs, Keller uses Longboat as a platform to challenge norms and provoke thought. His latest album, Word Gets Around, arrived in June 2025 as part of an unprecedented 11-album year. With his signature blend of narrative depth and sonic experimentation, Longboat continues to redefine what pop music can be.
