“Good Thing” Is Out Now — And Here’s Why I Filmed It by the Sea

By Yaya Diamond

There are moments in life that stop you mid-breath — where everything around you feels so perfectly aligned that you don’t want to move, speak, or even think too hard. You just want to be.

That’s exactly what “Good Thing” is about. And that’s exactly where I filmed the video.

Sitting quietly between two cozy beachside restaurants, with the sea stretching out endlessly ahead, red flowers hanging gently from the ceiling, and a hot cup of mushroom coffee warming my hands — I found the visual for this song. Not in a studio. Not on a set. Right there, in a moment of perfect stillness.

Butterflies at the window. Waves crashing below a wide open sky. Distant mountains standing tall on the horizon. The smell of saltwater in the air.

This is a good thing.

As an artist, I’ve learned that the best creative decisions aren’t always planned. Sometimes the song tells you where it needs to live. “Good Thing” asked for peace, warmth, and the kind of quiet joy that reminds you why you keep going. So that’s what we gave it.

This record is for anyone who’s been chasing something — and finally stopped long enough to realize that what they needed was right in front of them all along.
