Music is the soundtrack to life. That is not just my motto — it is the truth I have lived every single day of my life.

I am the daughter of the late disco legend Evelyn Thomas, the “Queen of High Energy.” I grew up watching my mother pour her entire soul into every note, and I learned early that music is not just entertainment. It is healing. It is celebration. It is the thing that carries us through our hardest days and lifts us even higher on our best ones.

Today, I am humbled and thrilled to share that I am stepping into the spotlight with my For Your Consideration campaign for the 69th Annual Grammy Awards — with three songs that each carry a piece of my heart.

The Music

“Another Level” is exactly what the title promises. It is about rising — refusing to stay where you are, pushing past every limit, and claiming the next chapter of your life. When I perform this song, I feel my mother’s energy running through me, reminding me that we were made for more.

“Good Thing” is pure joy. It is a celebration of the blessings, the love, and the beautiful moments that make life worth living. This is the song that makes people smile before the first chorus even ends — and that is exactly the point.

“Blues Song” comes from a deeper place. It is honest, it is soulful, and it is real. We have all had moments that tested us, and this song sits with you in those moments and says: you are not alone.

Three songs. Three different moods. One artist giving you everything she has.

Why This Matters

As a voting member of the Recording Academy with Grammy ballot history, I understand what this process means. I know the care that goes into every vote. That is why I am not just asking for your consideration — I am offering you music that I believe genuinely deserves it.

This campaign is the culmination of decades of work: leading my band Yaya Diamond & The Dream Chasers across stages in Southwest Florida and beyond, hosting Dream Chasers Radio since 2008, earning a Florida Music Hall of Fame nomination, receiving an honorary doctorate in music business and entrepreneurship, and being honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award. Every step brought me here.
